Former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Wednesday said the Railway Budget will make it clear if the performance of the PSU during his tenure was better than what it is at present.
"The Railways is such an organisation that an individual does not matter much. It has its own momentum. Still, the difference (in the performance) of the Railway ministry in the first UPA government and the second UPA government will be clear when the next railway budget is placed. The people will judge," Prasad said.
Prasad pointed out that the number of rail accidents have increased. Prasad had claimed railways' performance was very good during his tenure as the minister.
However, after taking over as Railway Minister in the UPA's second term, Railway Minister tabled a white paper in Lok Sabha on December 18, which said the performance of the PSU was 'below par' during Prasad's tenure.
