Honda to recall 32,650 Odysseys from China market

June 03, 2010 13:23 IST

Guangqi Honda Automobile Co Ltd will, from Thursday, recall some of the Odyssey cars it sold in China to replace faulty oil return tubes, the country's quality supervision authorities said.

The recall would affect 32,650 units produced from June 22, 2009, to May 19, 2010, Xinhua quoted a statement from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine as saying.

The loose oil return tube, which may result in leakage, could pose a safety risk, the statement said, adding that the car maker would check and refasten the oil return tube for free.

Guangqi Honda Automobile, a joint venture between Guangzhou Automobile Group and Honda Motor Co Ltd of Japan, was co-founded in 1998.
