A special court trying Satyam [ Get Quote ] scam cases on Wednesday issued a reminder to NIMS to submit a report before it by June 14 on the health condition of former Satyam Computer Services chairman B Ram
alinga Raju.
Raju, the prime accused in multi-crore financial fraud in Satyam Computers, is undergoing treatment for Hepatitis C at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences.
He is not attending the court proceedings since September last year citing health reasons. Earlier, magistrate BVLN Chakravarti, had directed the NIMS Hospital to file a fresh medical report on the health condition of Ramalinga Raju [ Images ] by June 7.
The last report on his health was submitted on April 17.
However, no report was filed by NIMS before the court on June 7 and today also.
The judge then issued a reminder to NIMS director to submit a report forthwith by June 14 without fail.
The court wants to examine all the accused, including Raju, with regard to the allegations mentioned against them by the CBI in two separate charge-sheets before commencing the trial.
With Raju not appearing before the court, the premier investigating agency had last month sought court's permission to establish video link with NIMS, to expedite the case.
If the video link is installed, the CBI counsel said, it will help in progress of trial. Objections and other applications submitted by other Satyam accused on clubbing of the charge sheets should in no way come in the way for setting up such a link, the CBI said.
The judge later posted the matter to June 14 for further hearing and also extended the judicial remand of all the accused, including Raju till the same date.
