The national capital will get another 75 km of Metro network before Commonwealth Games in October.

Addressing the 16th Foundation Day of Delhi Metro, Urban Development Secretary M Ramachandran on Monday said the Metro already has added 110.49 km to its network in recent years.

Another 75.49 km is in advanced stage of construction and will be operational in next five months before the commencement of the sporting extravaganza, he said adding the government plans to cover Delhi and its suburb with a Metro network in four phases.

"We have received the Detailed Project Report for the third phase which will have 84 km," said Ramachandran, who is also the Chairman of Delhi Metro.

"Despite the resource crunch due to more Metro projects in other cities, completion of Delhi Metro projects has been government's priority," he said.
