Pakistanis outraged with Facebook over 'blasphemous' caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed have created a networking site of their own with the hope that that it can connect the world's 1.6 billion Muslims.

Six young IT professionals from Lahore launched www.millatfacebook.com on Tuesday.

Millatfacebook is Pakistan's first social networking site.

The website says it has already attracted 4,300 English people Muslims.

But all is not hunky-dory with the site, with users moaning the inability to play games and connect with friends who are on Facebook.

The site offers email, photo, video, chat and discussion board facilities.

Dubbed MFB, after Facebook's moniker FB, its founder says professionals are working around the clock to offer features similar to the California-based company.
