In signs of improving labour market, private companies in the US generated 201,000 new jobs this month.

In recent months, employment situation has seen positive signs after the huge job losses post 2008 crisis.

The ADP National Employment Report released on Wednesday showed that private sector jobs jumped by 201,000 from February to March on a seasonally adjusted basis. Going by the report, private non-farm payroll employment has accelerated in 2011.

The average monthly increase in employment over the last four months December through March has been 211,000, consistent with a gradual if uneven decline in unemployment rate.

"This is almost three times the average monthly gain of 74,000 over the preceding four months of August through November," the report noted.

Employment in the services sector rose by 164,000 in March while that in the goods producing sector climbed by 37,000 during the same period.

Similarly, as many as 37,000 new jobs were created in the manufacturing sector this month. The report is based on responses from an anonymous subset of about 500,000 US business clients.
