Banks consider FM's suggestion on interest rate

Union Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday said banks have responded positively to his suggestion about reducing credit interest rates.

Earlier, he asked banks to provide credit at reasonable rates to spur growth.

He also pointed out that cuts in the official rates by the Reserve Bank of India had not been passed on to the borrowers.
