Kashmir shutdown: Economy suffers

The shutdown in Kashmir, which has now reached its eighth day, has dented the state's economy, causing massive losses to various sectors in the region.

The strike called by the separatists, over the alleged rape and murder of two women, has put a clamp on all activities in the valley, causing losses worth billions of rupees.
