Pranab Mukherjee holds pre-budget discussions

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has pointed out the need to find ways to bring the economy back onto higher growth path without increasing the fiscal deficit.

According to the statement issued in New Delhi, Mukherjee told the state finance ministers that the government would focus on infrastructure, agriculture and employment generating sectors to promote growth and protect jobs.
