June 18, 2009 19:22 IST

Speaking at a summit organised by the US-India Business Council in Washington DC, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pushed for stronger economic and diplomatic ties between the United States and India.

She described India as a force of positive change.

Hillary also pledged closer economic and trade ties and said negotiations would begin soon on a bilateral investment
treaty, creating more opportunities for trade between the two countries.
