Glimpses of a nuclear world

A visitor walks in an underground nuclear shelter built in the early 1950s in the centre of Budapest.

The shelter, which was never used, was built between 1949 and 1953 near the parliament building in order to provide protection for Hungary's communist leadership in case of a nuclear attack.
