The festive season has indeed brought cheer for car makers with 115,067 cars being sold in July, showing a 31 per cent rise compared to the same period last year.

Hyundai Motor India launched its latest Santro model on September 2.
The new Santro has better interiors and exterior features. The features of the Santro include a 1.1 eRLX Epsilon engine, a body coloured radiator grille and full wheel cover.
The rear end has been given a more sporty look with the addition of a rear spoiler. The new Santro will be available in 8 colours and will be priced between Rs 2.63 lakh to Rs 3.69 lakh.
Hyundai saw the domestic market sales going up 13 per cent in August at 24,401 units against 21,610 units in the same month last year.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the New Camry in August. The new Camry combines modern styling and luxurious features.
It will be available in dark green mica metallic and beige mica metallic colours. It has superior luxury features and will be priced between Rs 21.26 lakh and Rs 23.40 lakh.

Toyota Fortuner hit the Indian roads in August. The Fortuner is likely to taken on cars like the Honda CRV. Toyota Fortuner is available at a price tag of Rs 18.45 lakh.
Within 10 days of launch of the Fortuner, Toyota Kirloskar received 5,000 bookings. The company expects to sell over 2500 units by December 2009.
TKM announced a 35 per cent growth in overall sales in August 2009 over the same month last year.
The Corolla Altis has registered a 91 per cent rise in sales for January-August 2009 as against the corresponding period last year.

German premium segment car maker Audi launched its luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) Audi Q5 in the Indian market in June.
The SUV, priced between Rs.38.29 lakh and Rs.44.19 lakh, will come in two engines. Q5 is the sixth offering from Audi's stable and its second SUV in India.
Audi India reported an impressive sales growth of 69 per cent by clocking a sale of 171 cars in August compared to 101 units in August 2008.

The world's cheapest car hit the roads in July with Raghunath Vichare from Mumbai becoming the proud first owner of the car. Nano was commercially launched on March 23 this year. It has received 2.06 lakh bookings.
With a 623-cc rear-engine, the car boasts of a fuel economy of over 23 km per litre.
The Nano is priced between Rs 1.22 lakh to Rs 1.86 lakh for different variants.
The company would roll out the Nanos from its Pantnagar facility, which has an annual capacity of 50,000 units.
Tata Motors' total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in August 2009 were 49,810 vehicles, a growth of 14 per cent over 43,600 vehicles sold in August 2008. 2,501 units of the Nano have been sold so far.

After launching the world's cheapest car, the Nano, Tata Motors launched its flashy cars - the iconic Jaguar and Land Rover - in June.
Priced between Rs 63 lakh and Rs 92 lakh in India, three Jaguar and two Land Rover models are available.
While Jaguar models will be available in the price band of Rs 63-92 lakh, the Land Rover will be in the Rs 63-89 lakh range.
Tata Motors acquired Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford Motor Co for $2.3 billion in March last year.

Italian car major Fiat launched its much-awaited premium small car Grande Punto in both petrol and diesel variants in June.
Grande Punto was first launched in the European market in 2005, would be rolled out from the company's plant at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra in four variants each in both petrol (1.2 litre an 1.4 litre) and diesel models (1.3 litre).
The Grande Punto Petrol is priced between Rs 3.99 lakh to Rs 5.61 lakh and the diesel version is priced between Rs 4.85 lakh to Rs 6.11 lakh.

Japanese car giant Honda launched its much-awaited hatchback Jazz in June, priced between Rs 6.98 lakh and Rs 7.33 lakh.
Jazz with a Euro-IV compatible engine, would give a mileage of 16.1 km per litre as per ARAI standards. The Jazz is priced between Rs 6.98 lakh to Rs 7.33 lakh.
Honda have launched three variants of the Jazz - the Jazz, Jazz Active and Jazz Mode come with two airbags and ABS as standard. It is powered by a 1198cc, i-VTEC engine.
Honda Siel Cars India reported a 3.98 per cent rise in its sales at 4,102 units in August as against 3,945 units in the year ago period.

Maruti Suzuki Ritz, the premium hatchback car from the Maruti family was launched in May.
The Ritz is priced between Rs 3.9 lakh for the base model and Rs 5.17 lakh for the metallic VDI variant.
Ritz has a powerful K12M engine and is the first car in India fully compliant to the Bharat Stage-IV emission norms.
Maruti Suzuki recently launched a new petrol version of its hatchback Estilo, priced between Rs 3.12 lakh and Rs 3.95 lakh. The new model is equipped with a 998 cc, three-cylinder petrol engine.
This car will be better in terms of fuel-efficiency, besides being compliant with the latest emission norms.
Maruti's sales were up 29 per cent in August at 69,961 units against 54,113 units in August 2008.

Ford launched the new Fiesta SXI in July. It comes with the advanced and efficient 1.6 Duratec (petrol) and 1.4 Duratorq (common-rail, turbo diesel) engines.
Both engines are fuel efficient and produce class-leading performance. The top-end SXI variant has been priced at Rs 6.99 lakh (petrol) and Rs 7.99 lakhs (diesel).
