Some useful information about BMW X1

BMW X1 would come in both manual and automatic transmission option in five variants. All the variants would be equipped with the same capacity diesel powered engine.

XI would be launched as a completely knocked down unit. Two variants of BMW X1 would have 1995cc, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, diesel engine capable of producing 143bhp of maximum power at 4000rpm with 320nm of maximum torque at 1750 2500rpm.

Two other variants of BMW X1 will be equipped with the same capacity engine capable of producing 177bhp of maximum power at 4000rpm with 350nm of maximum torque at 1750 3000rpm.

The top most variant of BMW X1 would have the same engine but 204bhp of maximum power at 4400rpm with 400Nm of maximum torque at 2000 2250rpm.

BMW X1's features comprise the V-shaped alloy wheels, body-coloured door handles, chrome-finished exhaust pipe, heated and automatic adjustable outside rear view mirrors, chrome-line exterior trim, satin aluminium roof rails.

The interiors consist of ambient lighting, front armrest with sliding adjustment, velour floor mats, illuminated glove compartment, illuminated vanity mirrors, satin silver interior trim.

BMW X1 is equipped with antilock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, dual front airbags and side ITS head airbags, alarm system with remote control and engine immobiliser, front and rear anti roll bars, central locking, child lock, crash sensor, front and rear fog lamps, halogen headlamps, front and rear seat belts with pre-tensioner and belt force limiter and side impact protection.

Speculations are rife that BMW would launch at least five variants in India but nothing is confirmed as yet.

With X1, BMW is trying to cement its position in the luxury car segment and lure buyers with the low price.
