Technology major Wipro Ltd has announced the following audited consolidated results for the quarter ended June 30, 2010:
The company has posted a net profit of Rs 1,318.6 crore (Rs 13.19 billion) for the quarter ended June 30, 2010 as compared to Rs 1,010.4 crore (Rs 10.10 billion) for the quarter ended June 30, 2009.
Total income has increased from Rs 6,345.7 crore (Rs 63.46 billion) for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 to Rs 7,371.5 crore (Rs 73.71 billion) for the quarter ended June 30, 2010.
"We are seeing strong demand environment across over industry verticals despite macro challenges. We added the highest number of billable employees ever, in this quarter," Wipro Chairman Azim Premji said.

The company added 4,854 employees in this quarter taking the total headcount to 112,000.
For the second quarter ending September 30, 2010, it expects revenues from IT services business to be in the range of $1,253 -1,277 million.
