The chief executive officer of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, on Thursday shrugged off being surpassed by a rival brand as the world's biggest technology firm in terms of market value.
Apple, the maker of iPods, iPhones and iPads, overtook Microsoft, the computer software giant, on Wednesday to become the world"s most valuable technology company.
Ballmer said he is proud of the fact that no company can beat Microsoft in terms of profit and he is not bothered about stock market assessment.
"Where do we go, how do we make products that are more innovative, more popular, how do we make more profit and certainly there is no technology company in the planet that is as profitable as we are," said Ballmer.
" I am certainly proud of that. How the stock market chooses to reflect all that is up to the stock market," he added.
