The Tata Aria.

The much-awaited seven-seater crossover by Tata Motors, the all new Tata Aria, has been finally launched in the Indian market.

The car would be in direct competition with existing players, including Ford Endeavour, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Innova, Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Captiva, Toyota Fortuner and upcoming Skoda Yeti.

The crossover has been designed keeping in mind not just Indian markets but even those in the West, like Europe and the United States.

The car meets European crash legislation and comes with features suited to premium SUVs (sports utility vehicle). It is an eight-seater luxurious MUV (multi utility vehicle) build on the roadster concept and comes with a 2.2L, DICOR (Direct Injection Common Rail) engine (same as Tata Safari).

The all new Tata Aria has been dubbed as the most sophisticated and expensive Tata car till date.

It is also loaded with GPS navigation system from Mapmyindia and a six-speaker audio system.

A sun-roof is also one of the options available to customers. Handle bars are fitted at the both end for passengers for firm sitting and comfort.

Tata Aria exteriors

This is a blend of SUV and MUV, and its front appearance is very aggressive. Tata Aria seems like an MUV but its large sporty wheels and muscular wheel arches lend it an SUV-like effect.

The upper front grille looks like Tata Indica Vista, classy headlamps and bonnet creases are traditional Tata.

The car also has front turn indicators placed on automatically adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors).

The body coloured door handles, five-spoke alloy wheels with tubeless radial tyres are very good. The chrome finished exhaust pipe, high mounted large tail lamps and a third stop lamp make up for the cluster on the rear.
