Move over BMW, Mercedes and Audi. . . It's time for your richer cousin Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport to steal the lime light.

The world's fastest car, with a record of 430 km per hour, is all set to hit Indian roads on October 28.

The car has a very elite clientele and a price tag of Rs 12 crore (Rs 120 milion). It has already found some takers among India's rich who like to flaunt and indulge in luxe lifestyle.

The Indian car market is attracting global attention with double-digit growth figures, something that the Western markets are unable to keep up with due to recession.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, named after French racing driver Pierre Veyron, has an eight-litre engine teamed with a seven-gear clutch transmission that is capable of producing 1,001 bhp power and 1200 Nm torque.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport has 64 valves and four turbochargers that make it go faster than a bullet. Veyron is a four-wheel drive and does the 0-100 kmph sprint in less than three seconds.

So far the world has 220 of these beauties delivered to clients ranging from industrialists to Hollywood stars, et al.

In India, the car is being distributed by Exclusive Motors, which also has brands like Bentley and Lamborghini in its portfolio.

Other super luxury carmakers like Rolls-Royce, Maybach, Lamborghini, etc have been doing very well in India. So much so that the country's all-imported super luxury car market in slated to double this fiscal.

Maybach has a 5.5-litre, V-12, twin-turbo engine with a five-speed automatic transmission, which is capable of producing 550 bhp power and has a top speed of 250 km per hour.
