Splendid interiors of the Burj Khalifa

The world's tallest tower is Dubai's masterpiece, Burj Khalifa.

The construction of the magnificent building began on 21 September 2004.

The building officially opened on 4 January 2010. While Adrian Smith was the chief architect, Bill Baker was the chief structural engineer.

It holds the world record in several aspects.

The tower was renamed Burj Khalifa, to honour the UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his crucial support during the financial crisis.

Burj Khalifa has been designed to be the centrepiece of a large-scale development that would include 30,000 homes, nine hotels, 7.4 acres of parkland, at least 19 residential towers, the Dubai Mall, and the 30-acre man-made Burj Khalifa Lake.
