Maruti plans to launch 5 more new cars

Ever since Maruti landed on the India roads, way back in 1983, with the launch of Maruti800, India's first people's car, the country's largest carmaker has never failed its customers - be they budget buyers, or high-end auto freaks.

Maruti India started year 2012 with a bang and launched 5 cars -- Maruti SX4 Celebration, Maruti Swift Alpha, new Maruti Swift Dzire, Maruti Swift Dzire Tour and Maruti Ertiga.

And the automaker is all set to launch five more cars.

Maruti XA Alpha SUV

It was showcased at the 11th Auto Expo in New Delhi. Now the company is planning to officially lauch this SUV during Diwali, in direct competition with Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport.

All new Maruti 800

Maruti discontinued its production because the car did not conform to the pollution norms, and it's low price made any such adjustments unviable.

However, the new avatar would be based on Alto's platform and will sport enhanced engine and amplified features.

Maruti Swift Dzire

It is wider than the old Maruti Swift Dzire but has a compact boot.

The new Dzire also has a larger wheelbase.

The petrol variant of this sedan is powered by K-12 M VVT engine, whereas the diesel variant comes with D13A DDiS turbo charged diesel engine that manages to deliver an awesome mileage of 23.4 km per litre.
