There has been a big jump in prices of rough diamond since 2005 and they are projected to increase about 20 per cent by 2017, primarily boosted by rise in demand in China and India, according to Wealth-X, a wealth research firm.

World's richest diamond owners consist of collectors, dealers, and investors who have shares in some of the biggest mines, it says.
