Samsung launches more powerful Grand 2; bigger display

Inspired by the success of Galaxy Grand smartphone, Samsung has unveiled the all-new Grand 2.

The phone sports a bigger screen compared to its predecessor, has better screen resolution, and a quad core processor.

Samsung says that the upgrades include better viewing experience, enhanced performance, and many other intuitive features.

Display

To make it a better viewing experience, Galaxy Grand 2 sports a 5.25-inch HD display. Samsung says that the size and aspect ratio makes it an apt device for watching movies, playing games and e-reading.

Under the hood

Galaxy Grand 2 comes with has a more powerful Quad Core 1.2GHz processor and 1.5GB RAM.

The dual-SIM phone packs 2,600mAh battery that allows up to 10 hours of playback and 17 hours of calls. Primary camera is 8MP and the front one is 1.9MP.

Grand 2 comes with 8GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 64GB. The phone has Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Samsung has included software features that usually came with the premium phones. Here are few of them:

Story Album: Organise pictures by timeline, and create and print albums all from your device

S Translator: A translation service that provides instantaneous translations at any time

Sensors

Other than the usual sensors such as proximity, accelerometer, compass, and light sensors, Grand 2 also has Hall Sensor. This sensor detects whether the cover is open or closed.
