Union Finance Minister, P Chidambaram on Tuesday met the heads of public sector banks to take stock of the financial performance of banks.
The finance minister's meeting also comes in the backdrop of his ministry promising additional funds to PSU banks to lower interest rates for two-wheelers and consumer durables.
Many PSU banks had recently cut interest rate on loans for two-wheelers and consumer durables.
