Samsung has finally taken the veil off its new tablets. The company has announced three new Galaxy Tabs including Galaxy Tab4 10.1, Galaxy Tab4 8.0, and Galaxy Tab4 7.0.

The new tablets are thinner, lighter and have seen substantial design change from the earlier series.

The company claims that the next-generation Galaxy tablet series will deliver ‘exceptional multimedia experience in a more premium and portable design, making it ideal for viewing or sharing content with friends and family’.

All the three tablets have software features carried forward from Samsung Galaxy S4 that make it easier to share. These include Group Play that slows users to share and play music, documents and games with friends in realtime.

The Tab 4 family supports Samsung's Multi-Window function, which means users can run two apps side-by-side simultaneously and drag content from one app to the other. This is particularly nice for those who like to multitask.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 lineup will be available across the globe in Black and White colour option, starting in Q2 this year. There's no information on their pricing, though.

The best part is that the tablet comes with Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box.

The tablets will be available in two internal storage options - 8GB and 16GB. The Indian version (3G/WiFi) most likely will have support for 32GB memory card. The LTE version supports up to 64GB memory cards.

Galaxy Tab4 8.0

The biggest of the lot fails to impress when pitted against its competitors.

The 10.1-inch tablet houses the same hardware of Galaxy Tab4 7.0. Despite having a bigger screen the resolution of the tablet is kept at 1280 X 800. This means it may have a lower pixel density.

The only difference between this device and others is the battery. Galaxy Tab4 8.0 comes with a 6,800mAh battery.
