Fiat Punto Evo is more spacious than Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Swift

Fiat recently released the Punto Evo, the revised version of the popular hatchback at a price of Rs 455,000 to Rs 719,000.

With this amazing price and completely face lifted features, the Punto poses some serious threats to cars like the Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo and Elite Hyundai i20.

The Fiat Punto Evo has received some exterior and interior cosmetic upgrades and comes along with more features.

The Italian manufactures have equipped their product with powerful engines thus providing the Indian buyers an affordable and elegant option.

Engine wise we do not see too many changes. Most of the changes were cosmetic though there is an upgrade on the 75bhp diesel.

On the engine front, the buyer gets diesel and petrol variants with the diesel engine available with two different power outputs.

Punto Evo offers two petrol and two diesel engines. For starters we have the 68bhp 1.2-litre and 90bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine while the oil burner is one 1.3-litre engine with two states of tunes, 75bhp and 90bhp.

The Punto is an absolute performer and leads the race when it comes to style, ride, handling and last but not the least, the built.

The feel of a direct steering wheel that one gets while driving the Punto is simply unmatched by any other car. The Grande Punto has now been renamed as the Punto Evo.

Some very aggressive changes have been made on the exteriors. The front facade consists of new pulled-back headlamps, revamped grille, revised tail lamp design and a lot of chrome. ll these changes will make sure that you will never mistake it for anything else.

The new colour adds a lot of excitement and freshness to its look. Not many changes have been made to the side view. The rear gets subtle changes like more chrome added and new tail-lamps.

On the inside, we can see a very sophisticated  black theme which look really great and add a sporty feel to the car.
The front dash shows offnewly designed instrument panel. The dash is lifted from the new Linea and the equipment levels have been improved.

The Punto Evo also gets rear ac vents. Spaciousness for the occupants is exactly the same.

Though the car has aux connectivity, it cannot stream music through Bluetooth.

The Punto Evo has good ride quality but it has a long turning radius. The ground clearance too, is very good.

Fiat Punto Evo vs. Maruti Suzuki Swift

Even though the Swift is the one of the best sellers in its segment, the Fiat Punto Evo manages to beat it in many areas.

Some of its advantages over the Maruti Suzuki is its boot space, driving dynamics, ground clearance and the built.

The Swift manages to stay in the race with advantages like better re-seller, better quality interiors and drivability and performance.

One of the latest entries in the market, the Hyundai i20 is a car loaded with features. Some of them include start-stop; keyless entry, reverse parking camera, six-airbags and it just goes on and on.

The Punto Evo has an edge when it comes to handling, ground clearance and boot space.

Unfortunately the Fiat Punto faces a big defeat since the i20 has way more features and leads in the style department.

Fiat Punto Evo vs. Volkswagen Polo

The Fiat Punto faces an equal match with the Volkswagen Polo. Both the cars were recently upgraded and have an equal footing here.

Punto Evo has advantages like lesser maintenance cost, more rear knee room, bigger boot and better ground clearance.

The Polo tries to lead with its better interior quality, better drivability and better fuel efficiency. Both are amazing but the Punto is a little bit better.
