The XA Alpha is the most awaited compact SUV from the country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki.

This ultimate product from the domestic automobile leader would show its skills at India’s biggest automotive ‘Car’nival – Auto Expo 2014, next month.

Sources reveal that this diesel power-train is developed solely by Maruti’s R&D team and will not be powered by the regular Fiat’s multijet diesel engine that the company has been using till now.

The company plans it to roll out initially with the diesel power-trains, however, petrol trims are reported to be introduced later.

Volkswagen Taigun

Volkswagen Taigun is another compact SUV that will be seen competing with Ford EcoSport soon on the domestic shores. This sensational mini-crossover will come powered by a highly efficient 1.0 Litre, 3-cylinder TSI petrol engine that will be potent enough to toss out peak power of 110 PS and peak torque of 175 Nm.

Ford EcoSport at present is offered in 1.0 Litre petrol, 1.5 Litre petrol and 1.5 Litre diesel engine options.
