Prandelli named new Roma coach

AS Roma have appointed Parma's Cesare Prandelli to replace Fabio Capello as their coach.

"Prandelli has signed a three year contract and he will hold a press conference early next week," a spokeswoman for Roma said on Saturday.

Prandelli, who guided Parma to fifth place in Serie A, was out of contract and had been one of the favourites to take over at Juventus before the surprise appointment of Capello there on Friday.
