We are in constant touch with ICC: Dalmiya
Breaking his silence on the ICC sponsorship row, Jagmohan Dalmiya, president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, said on Sunday that the BCCI was in constant touch with the International Cricket Council and hoped to find a solution to the problem soon.
"We are constantly interacting with the Indian players as well as international cricket's governing body," Dalmiya told the Press Trust of India in Kolkata.
This is Dalmiya's first official comment since the controversy broke out in the middle of this week threatening to jeopardize the ICC Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka next month.
"I hope there will be some development soon," he said.
Dalmiya, who has been working round-the-clock from his business office in the city since the controversy erupted to make a breakthrough, had earlier sent a letter to the players asking them to sign the contract for the Sri Lanka tournament only.
The missive promised that if the players put their signatures on the "Players' Terms" forms, barring them from endorsing products potentially in conflict with the interests of the official sponsors one month either side of ICC tournaments, the board would raise the issue with the apex body by October 31.
