Hosts Hyderabad scored a resounding 297-run victory over Karnataka to secure four points from the 'Elite' Group B Ranji Trophy cricket match at the Gymkhana grounds in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The hosts, resuming at 187 for 6 after taking a 77-run first innings lead, ended up at 309, thus setting the visitors a winning target of 386 on the third day.
Karnataka, however, were bowled out for 89, with medium pacer Fiaz Ahmed claiming 6 for 29.
Today's victory took the hosts' points tally to eight from three matches while Karnataka have six from four games.
Earlier, overnight batsman Ibrahim Kaleel made an elegant 72 while Shivaji Yadav (25) and N P Singh (29) came up useful contributions to take Hyderabad's score to 309.
The hosts had scored 177 in the first innings and bowled out Karnataka for 100 to acquire a first innings lead of 77.
Chasing the target of 386, Karnataka were never in the hunt as wickets fell at regular interval. Tailender Dodda Ganesh was the top-scorer for the side with 20 runs.
