Jammu and Kashmir were on the verge of defeat, reeling on 36 for four in their second innings, after following on, against Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy 'Plate' Group 'A' match in Nagpur on Thursday.
Earlier, replying to Vidarbha's first innings total of 379, the visitors were all out for 104.
Resuming at their overnight score of 300 for 4, Vidarbha added 79 runs before being all out, with Faiz Fazal top-scoring with 151.
The Jammu and Kashmir batsmen failed to tackle the hostile bowling of medium pacer Sandeep Singh, who bagged five wickets, conceding 56 runs. He was ably supported by Chandrasekhar Atram (2-28).
The visiting team's batsmen continued their poor show in the second innings too, losing four wickets before close of the second day's play.
For Vidarbaha, pacer Umesh Patil claimed two wickets for just four runs in the JK second innings.

Abbas Ali, Patwardhan hit tons for MP
Fine knocks by Abbas Ali (109) and Nikhil Patwardhan (106) helped hosts Madhya Pradesh score 454 in their first innings on the second day of the Ranji Troph 'Plate' Group 'A' match against Tripura in Indore on Thursday.
Resuming at the overnight score of 169 for 4, Ali (12x4) and Patwardhan (10x4) added 129 runs for the fifth wicket.
However, Tripura's trump card Arindam Sarkar got the first breakthrough of the day when Abbas was caught by Subal Choudhary.
Later, Patwardhan and Brajesh Tomar (24, 4x5) added 59 runs for the sixth-wicket partnership and took their team's score to 309 runs before Sonu Sharma then hit back and trapped Tomar leg before wicket.
Patwardhan then joined hands with Harvinder Singh Sodhi (32) to add 55 runs for the seventh wicket but the Sarkar-Subal pair again struck when they claimed the wicket of Patwardhan.
But the tailenders, Sanjay Pandey and Narendra Hirwani, showed application to score 34 and 29 respectively and take their team's total to 454.
In reply, Tripura were placed at three for one after they suffered an early blow when Ritesh Jaiswal was trapped leg before by H S Sondhi.
Tirtha Rai (1) and Subal Choudhry (0) were at the crease when stumps were drawn for the day.

Sunny Singh shines for Haryana
A superb, unbeaten 85 by Sunny Singh took Haryana to a comfortable 166 for 2 in the first innings on the second day of the Ranji Trophy 'Plate' Group 'B' match at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur on Thursday.
After restricting Bihar's first innings total to 238, built around a fine century by Rajiv Kumar, Haryana received an early jolt when opener Jitender Singh (2) was adjudged leg before in the very first over of seamer Mihir Diwakar.
Sunny Singh, who walked in after Jitender's dismissal, along with Chetan Sharma at the other end, played a responsible knock. Both batsmen faced the Bihar attack with ease and put together a 108-run second-wicket partnership before Sharma edged a catch to skipper Sumit Panda off spinner Sunny Gupta at 45 (4X8).
Sunny Singh batted with patience but was prompt in punishing the loose deliveries. His unbeaten 54-run third wicket partnership with Ishan Ganda (batting on 26) took Haryana's score to 166 for two at stumps.
Earlier, resuming at 183 for seven, Bihar's overnight batsman Rajiv Kumar, who was on 66, notched a ton before leg spinner Amit Mishra had him leg before. Rajiv's 100 comprised ten boundaries.
Sahid Khan contributed 22 runs in the Bihar innings, which folded at 238, twenty-three minutes before lunch.
Displaying an all-round performance, Sunny Singh also scalped three wickets for Haryana to emerge the most successful bowler followed by Joginder Sharma, Sourav Virmani and Amit Mishra, who picked two wickets each.

Opener Vaghela carries bat through
Opener Kanaiya Vaghela carried his bat to remain not out on 95 as Saurashtra were bowled out for a modest 228 in their first innings on the second day of the four-day Ranji Trophy 'Plate' match against Orissa at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Thursday.
At stumps, Orissa were 41 for the loss of opener Shiv Sundar Das (7).
Resuming at the overnight score of 68 for four, the visitors lost their fifth wicket at the stroke of lunch when Firoz Bambhaniya (30) was run-out by Subrat Behera.
Bambhaniya shared a 62-run stand with Vaghela for the fifth wicket, which was the highest partnership of the innings.
Vaghela, who was batting on 24 yesterday, completed his 50 in 250 minutes as he continued his lone vigil even as wickets kept falling at the other end.
Wicket-keeper Ashok Kamaliya (19) and Pintoo Gosai (17) made modest contributions as none could provide the support Vaghela needed. He was stranded on 95 (474 min, 10 fours) as the innings ended at 228 at tea.
Medium pacers Deepak Mangaraj and Debashis Mohanty captured four and three wickets conceding 79 and 78 runs respectively.
Commencing their first innings, the hosts were dealt a blow when Das was caught behind by Kamaliya off Pintoo Gosai for seven.
At close, Subrat Behera and Rashmi Ranjan Parida were batting on 19 and 13 respectively.
