SRS World (the entertainment division of BTL Group) is set to make multiplex visits a family affair.
According to Anil Jindal, director, SRS World, the place will have something for everyone in the complex -- with the highlights being a creche and a discotheque.
That and a travellator (a horizontal escalator) and state-of-the-art sound and projection systems in the theatre halls are what Jindal hopes will bring in the crowds.
The SRS World, as the multiplex-cum-shopping mall in Faridabad is called, is set to open by end-December and has an investment of Rs 27 crore (Rs 270 million).
On offer are 42 shops, three cinema screens and a number of restaurants.
"Our target is the upper middle class from Noida, Faridabad and Gurgaon," says Jindal. "And with an average of 6,000 visitors a day, we should break even in 18 months," he adds.
Spread over an area of 90,000 sq ft, the complex will have a parking facilities for nearly 2,000 cars. A creche, for around 30 children, and a special kids zone are also being set up.
The cineplex, with a total seating capacity of 900, will have seats with attached computer panels for ordering F&B items from one's seat in the hall.
Also part of the SRS World, will be the SRS Club. Though details of the club have not been finalised, Jindal says that the company is looking at roping in 500 members. The facilities on offer include a swimming pool, gym, beauty salon, bar and restaurants.
The BTL Group, which did a turnover of Rs 100 crore (Rs 1 billion) last year, has interests in auto finance, auto components, mustard oil and tea.
"We think the entertainment sector is growing and we want to be part of it," says Jindal.
As part of its expansion plan, SRS World is already eyeing real estate in Meerut and Agra to set up multiplexes there.
According to Jindal work on these two projects is likely to start early next year. Also on the anvil is the company's entry into the amusement parks business. "Talks are on with various companies but we haven't finalised anything yet," concludes Jindal.
