Sri Lankan president arrives in Delhi

Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga arrived in Delhi on Monday for talks with Indian leaders on the developments in the island nation, including the peace accord between Colombo and the LTTE.

She is primarily undertaking the week-long visit on an invitation to deliver the Madhav Rao Scindia memorial lecture on 'Democracy and Conflict Resolution' on April 23.

During her visit, Kumaratunga will meet her Indian counterpart K R Narayanan and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Wednesday besides Union Home Minister L K Advani, External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh and Leader of the Opposition Sonia Gandhi.

Progress in the international campaign against terrorism, joint efforts to combat the menace, developments in West Asia, the situation in South Asia along with the entire range of bilateral relations are expected to come up for review.
