The Sankararaman murder case, in which Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati and his deputy Vijayendra Saraswati are the main accused, was on Wednesday committed to a sessions court at Chengalpattu by a judicial magistrate in Kanchipuram.
After completing the pre-charge formalities, Judicial First Class Magistrate G Uthamraj sent the case file to principal district judge, Chengalpattu, who will assign the case to a sessions judge.
The case will now come up for hearing before the sessions judge on April 27. The magistrate directed all the accused and accused-turned-approver Ravi Subramaniam to appear before the Chengalpattu court on that day.
