The BJP, under flak for the Kandhar militants' release, was in for criticism from an unexpected quarter today when the VHP termed the incident as a sign of the saffron party's "incapacity" in governance.
"Such people are unfit to rule the country," VHP international president Ashok Singhal said while BJP's predicament in the 1999 hostage drama was brought to his notice.
He also called Pakistan and Bangladesh as "global epicentres of terrorism," and called for severing ties with the two countries. "India should launch surgical strikes on their soils that have been launching proxy war on India."
Further, all diplomatic ties with these countries should be severed. India should replicate policies of the USA and the UK in combating terrorism.
On the attack on RSS district organiser Bhasker in Dindigul recently, he said fundamentalists were behind it.
"He knows his attackers but police are taking no action," he charged.
