HAL stun SalgaocarKyrgyzstan import Raja Baliev Nurlan scored twice in 17 minutes as Bangalore outfit Hindustan Aeronautics Limited shocked favourites and former champions Salgaocar, Goa, 2-1 in a second round fixture in the National Football League in Bangalore on Tuesday. In the match dominated by HAL, all the three goals came in the second half. Dennis Cabral scored the lone goal for the 1998-99 champions. With the victory, HAL have four points, having drawn with Vasco, Goa, last week. Salgaocar, who had defeated F C Kochin in their opening match, stay at three points. Nurlan put the local team ahead in the 60th minute, when he latched on to a pass from Nigerian forward Munisa Jimmy. The Bangalore side's joy, however, joy was shortlived as Cabral capitalised on a defensive lapse to restore parity five minutes later. Cabral slammed the ball home after Dayanand erred in defence. But the goal did not deter the newly-promoted NFL team and they deservedly struck again in the 77th minute. Dayanand, who had moved forward after Jimmy was substituted, received a pass from Xavier and found Nurlan unmarked. The last-named had little difficulty in finding the mark.
