The 12th-seeded Capriati scored a 5-7 6-4 6-3 win over the fourth seed Monica Seles to reach the Australian Open semifinals for the second consecutive year. Jennifer Capriati has scored her first win over Monica Seles in a Grand Slam event after nearly 11 years since they clashed for the first time at the 1990 French Open semis.
