Agassi wins third Australian OpenDefending champion Andre Agassi beat Arnaud Clement 6-4 6-2 6-2 on Sunday to win the Australian Open men's singles final for the third time. The American became the first man since Jim Courier in 1993 to win back-to-back Australian titles when he sealed a one-sided victory over Frenchman Clement in one hour 45 minutes. Sixth seed Agassi, who won his first Australian Open title at Melbourne Park in 1995, took the opening set in half an hour and didn't let up on his opponent as he cruised to his seventh grand slam title. Clement, the 15th seed, was appearing in his first major final. He broke Agassi's serve twice during the match but lost his own service seven times.
