		Sixth-seeded Agassi claimed the Australian Open title with a steady game of tennis, controlling most of the rallies and wearing down Clement by running him around the court. This is the third Australian Open title for Andre Agassi. He becomes only the second man after Mats Wilander to win the Australian Open three times. He had won the Australian Open in 1995 and 2000.
