Gumpe Rime denies Salgaocar full points

Title aspirants Salgaocar were held to a goalless draw by Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Club, thanks to a superb performance by HASC 'keeper Gumpe Rime, in a Tata National Football League match in Margao, Goa, on Sunday.

Salgaocar, who dominated the match throughout, did everything except scoring, as their strikers failed to convert the many chances that came their way.

Rime, who proved the stumbling block, came to the rescue of his side and saved at least a dozen chances to deny the former champions full points.

Salgaocar's ace striker Sunday Seah, who tormented the rival defence, was unlucky twice, when his try hit the woodwork. On one occasion, he was ruled offside after getting the ball inside the goal area.

HASC who were at the receiving end came up with occasional counter moves but those fizzled before entering the Salgaocar box.

Salgaocar are placed second, with 27 points from 15 Matches, while HASC have 22 points from as many outings.
