ITI, HAL in dull, goalless draw

Bangalore giants Indian Telephone Industries and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited were engaged in a dull, goalless draw in their Oil PSU-seventh National Football League match in Bangalore on Saturday.

Both teams disappointed the sizeable number of fans who turned up for the home clash, by laying emphasis on defence.

Following the draw, both teams have a solitary point from two outings.

ITI had lost to Indian Bank, Chennai, while HAL were beaten by Mumbai's Mahindra United in their opening matches.

HAL had a good scoring chance in the 10th minute, but striker Nuralan shot wide. He again missed another chance in the 25th minute, failing to convert a good pass off Kenneth Onu. His shot was well-saved by ITI custodian Gumpe Rime.

ITI had a couple of scoring chances in the second session but first striker Thiyam Raghuvir Singh sent a powerful shot over the bar and then, in the 68th minute, an attempt by Zubair landed straight in the hands of HAL keeper Mark Mascarenhas.
