No changes in women's hockey
team for Asiad

The Indian Women's Hockey Federation reposed faith in the side that won the Commonwealth Games gold at Manchester and retained it for the September 29-October 14 Asian Games at Busan.

However, there is one change, with Pakpi Devi being replaced by Adline Kerketta in the 16-member squad, which begins its campaign on September 30.

Kerketta was among the stand-byes in the Commonwealth Games team.

Suraj Lata Devi will continue to lead the team which is a blend of experience and youth.

India's chances of winning a medal in the Games are quite high as only three other teams -- China, Olympic silver medallists South Korea and Japan -- are in fray following the withdrawal of some teams from the competition.

India had won the silver at the last edition of the Games in Bangkok.

The team will leave for Busan on September 24 and is scheduled to play three practice matches against the Busan University boys team.

The team:
Tingoleima Chanu, Helen Mary, Amandeep Kaur, Suman Bala, Kanti Baa, Suraj Lata Devi (captain), Sumraj Tete, Sita Gossain, Masira Surin, Mamta Kharab, Manjinder Kaur, Pritan Siwach, Jyoti Sunita Kullu, Sanggai Ibemhal Chanu, Adline Kerketta, Saba Anjum.
