Ace marksman Abhinav Bindra withdrew from the shooting events of the first Afro-Asian Games, being held in Hyderabad, on the advice of his coaches in the United States.
Bindra, who had been undergoing training in Colorado Springs for next year's Olympics, pulled out of the Games since he would be left with little time to recover from jetlag after the long journey from the United States, a statement from the shooter's family in Chandigarh said on Thursday.
Bindra was due to arrive in Delhi today and his decision to withdraw from the Games has been conveyed to the National Rifle Association of India by national coach Prof Sunny
Thomas, the statement added.
