"We have already employed 8,703 trainees in Q3 and expect to add 8,300 more trainees in Q4 FY10. We have also hired 3,000 laterals in Q3 and given the growth we may continue to hire in Q4 as well," TCS' Vice-President and Head (Global Human Resources) Ajoyendra Mukherjee told reporters in Mumbai on Monday.

The Tata Group company has also given a 150 per cent increase in variables in the current quarter. The company plans to undertake a wage revision in April, Mukherjee said.

During Q3, TCS had a gross addition of 12,854 employees, which includes a net addition of 7,692. The company is also looking at 5,500 new campus hirings in FY11.

"We have had significant employee additions in Q3 and have increased our talent utilisation to industry-leading levels. We remain prepared to meet the growth in demand," Mukherjee said.

Clients, however, still exercise "caution" with regard to IT budgets, he said.

Amidst this uncertainty, a positive pointer is that TCS has resumed hiring of fresh and experienced employees alike, he said.
