The football fever is at its peak right now and the world is glued to the television sets or out in the stadium to cheer their favourite teams. Companies too are concentrating on brand building exercise along with the football mania.

Auto majors are planning a little display of stunts by flashy cars to make the event memorable one.

Mercedes Benz is planning to play automotive soccer matches at Mercedes-Benz World. Eight smart cars will play automotive soccer matches to add some more sheen to the event.

According to Andrew Mallery, commercial operations director at Mercedes-Benz Cars, "Live commentary will keep supporters on top of all the action as the two teams of smart cars dribble and shoot a giant sized football into the goal."

The matches will have four smart cars adorned with red crosses engaged in a match with two five-minute halves and a penalty shoot out against other models from over the world.

There would be a special pitch and a referee with giant red and yellow cards. These interesting and unique matches would be held on June 19, 20, 26, 27 and July 10.

If flashy cars are not playing football, then they are generally seen decorating the garage of some of the world's most adored footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal forward.

He is one the world's richest sportsmen and is said to be very fond of cars. His garage has mind blowing beauties like the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Bentley Continental GT Speed and Ferrari 599 GTB. According to sources, he has also d for a Bugatti Veyron recently.

Didier Drogba, the Ivory Coast centre forward is very fond of Mercedes-Benz. He owns the Mercedes SL65 coated in silver paint and a Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster.

French winger Thierry Henry's garage has SLR McLaren, a very rare Porsche Carrera GT, Aston Martin Vanquish S, Lincoln Navigator SUV and Renault Clio Sport.

South African midfielder Steven Pienaar has an Aston Martin DB9 and a Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen.
